Weather Policy
Nebraska DEVO now follows the government & sports industry standard for heat safety and uses the National Weather Service’s Wet Bulb Globe Temperature index & advisory guidelines in all of our sessions. This process helps identify conditions that exist AT session time and proactive measures to safely hold practice in a modified capacity.

In cases of severe weather or excessive heat, cancellations will be posted publicly on Facebook & JerseyWatch, by 5 p.m. Level 3 Site leads may also send out emails or texts to parents, anytime, at their discretion.
Sometimes bad weather can blow in very quickly in the summer between 5 p.m. and the start of our session; we will do our best to quickly get the word out if a last minute cancellation needs to be called. Please note, it is possible for weather and conditions to vary between our parks in northwest Omaha, Bellevue, Lincoln, Norfolk, and Blair.
Sometimes practice will need to be cancelled, even when the sun is shining. Why? Dirt trails need to be treated with care. Riding on muddy trails can cause serious damage that will take many hours to repair and impact long term stability and sustainability of the natural landscapes in which we ride. Please stay tuned to Facebook for updates if we have received heavy rain 24 hours prior to practice time.
* There is one RS make up day (the very next “same weekday” that follows the end of the regular season) reserved as a SINGLE makeup day if your site location had a regular season session cancellation. No other auto RS or makeup days will be planned.
