Important Registration Information
Participants MUST be between the ages of 5-18, with our youngest riders having ALREADY attended Kindergarten. Pedal bikes are required, with gears and hand brakes being preferred to get the most out of their DEVO experience. Any bikes with coaster brakes should have them removed along with kickstands PRIOR to the first session.
ALL riders must have the ability to ride their pedal bike unassisted on a flat surface from a stopped position, under control, in order to register for the Nebraska DEVO program.
Additionally, all bikes are required to undergo a safety check prior to the first night of the session (see below for more information).
Please PAY VERY CLOSE ATTENTION to which park you are registering for as we cannot accommodate transfers once you have completed your registration. The cost is $125 per rider with a $10 discount for each sibling ($115 per rider after the first rider is registered). Registration includes 8 weeks of instruction and a season T-shirt. The Norfolk & Blair programs cost $60 and includes 4 weeks of instruction and a T-shirt, these 2 programs will not offer a sibling discount and will be limited in participant numbers overall.
Nebraska DEVO scholarships are available. Please CLICK HERE to fill out a scholarship form and someone from our organization will contact you.
Nebraska DEVO offers two locations for sessions in Omaha (Swanson Park & Tranquility Park), two locations in Lincoln (Wilderness Park & Van Dorn Park) and one location each in Norfolk (Maskenthine Lake Recreation Area) and in Blair (Black Elk - Neihardt Park).
Mandatory Bike Safety Checks
NOTE: PLEASE DO NOT VISIT A BIKE SHOP FOR A DEVO 2025 SAFETY CHECK & DEVO DECAL PRIOR TO APRIL 15th!
To make sure your child has a fun and safe experience in DEVO, we require your bike to undergo a basic safety check at a local bike shop and receive a DEVO “Let’s Roll! 2025” decal.
Nebraska DEVO partners with local bike shops who offer this basic safety check-up & minor adjustment free of charge but do appreciate your patronage to their business, so please stop & shop a while! Call or visit one of participating shops below to make sure you have had your safety check performed BEFORE the first session. Make sure you make it clear you are wanting the safety check for DEVO and not a regular tune-up from the shop’s service menu.
Spring is a busy time for bike shops: if you visit during peak times, please know that shops may request for you to check the bike in to their service area and leave it for awhile until they have time to thoroughly conduct their check up.
The check-up entails: air up the tires, ensure brakes function properly and safely, chain is safe & secure, bike shifts gears well, and the bike is generally sound (no clunking or creaking or anything loose). This check-up and minor adjustments are offered free of charge but if new parts (i.e. brake pads, cables, chain etc.) are required, shops will require compensation for replacements and significant adjustment.
Safe, sound equipment is the foundation for the enjoyment of any sport!
